| For 1st & 2nd years Rs.37,000/- per month For the subsequent years Rs.42,000/- per month | 13 | a) Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Science or Engineering with atleast First Class or equivalent CGPA Grade as declared by University in the following subjects : Physics / Atmospheric Science / Space Physics / Meteorology / Earth System Sciences / Geophysics / Remote Sensing / Applied Chemistry with Physics / Atmospheric Science / Space Physics / Meteorology as major subject. And b) Qualified in CSIR-UGC NET / GATE / JAM / JEST with validity. |
PAY AND ALLOWANCES: Fellowship and eligible / admissible allowances as per Rules in vogue
from time to time and other facilities, such as, medical facilities, subsidized canteen are also
extended. All JRFs are provided with hostel facilities; those who do not avail hostel will be paid HRA
| Candidates attending the interview will be reimbursed Sleeper Class train fare |
Note: a) Those who have appeared in Final year examinations are also eligible to apply. They, however, need to produce final year marks sheet (4th Semester) / P.G degree certificate at the time of interview.
b) The Junior Research Fellowship is meant for carrying out research leading to Ph. D degree.
Age Limit For NARL Junior Research Fellowship
| Age Limit : Preferably 28 years as on last date of receipt of applications. |
| Relaxation in maximum age limit is applicable for SC / ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWD) as per Govt. of India orders. |
Candidates with CGPA grade need to furnish the conversion factor (from CGPA to Percentage) decided by the University.
The date of determining the eligibility of all candidates in every respect shall be the closing date for submitting the online application on the website.

National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) is engaged in frontline atmospheric/ionospheric research, including weather & climate, space weather and planetary ionosphere, using observations and modelling. NARL is also engaged in the development of new experimental techniques and indigenization of technologies. NARL has recently initiated research programs of national interest addressing ontemporary issues linked with urbanization, extreme weather, regional climate and pollution. NARL has also initiated cooperative research programs with national institutes and universities, employing atmospheric/ meteorological radars and GNSS/NaVIC receiver networks.
