Educational Qualification & Age Limit
Educational Qualification
- Asst. Foreman (Electrical) (Trainee): Diploma in Electrical Engineering (minimum 3-year course) approved by AICTE, or Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering approved by AICTE.
- Technician (Electrician) (Trainee): Matriculate or equivalent; ITI (2-year course) in Electrician Trade with trade certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT and 1-year training/on-the-job practical experience; LT permit under IE rules for Mines or 440-550 Volts mining parts permit.
Age Limit (as on 28/05/2026)
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Upper age limit: 30 years for General (UR) and EWS category.
- Age relaxation is applicable as per government guidelines for OBC (NCL), SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, and PwBD candidates.
3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 5 years for SC/ST, actual defense service period + 3 years for Ex-Servicemen, no upper age limit for departmental candidates, and 10 to 15 years for PwBD candidates depending on their category (General/EWS, OBC, or SC/ST).
Selection Steps
- The selection process consists solely of a Computer Based Test (CBT).
- There will be no personal interview.
- The CBT will have 100 objective-type questions with no negative marking.
- Section A will cover General Awareness/Aptitude (20 marks).
- Section B will cover Technical knowledge (80 marks).
- Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for General/EWS, 40% for OBC (NCL), and 35% for SC/ST.
