About CSIR-Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute
CGCRI was established under the umbrella of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). It is one of the first four national-level laboratories created under CSIR — alongside other major labs in India. The institute started functioning in a limited capacity around 1944, and was formally inaugurated on 26 August 1950. Location: 196, Raja S.C. Mullick Road, Kolkata – 700 032, West Bengal.
